There
are certain wardrobe staples that every stylish man needs to own: a
classic blue blazer, the perfect dress shoe, a well-tailored suit –
these are all givens. But
as we've stated many a time before, no ensemble is truly complete
without the finishing touches that elevate an outfit to refinement. More often than not, the final piece of the sartorial puzzle is a well chosen wrist watch.
A timepiece says a lot about its wearer, and we're here to make sure you're making the right statement. Join us in our series outlining the best choices for a fully rounded watch wardrobe with the timepieces that every man should own .
When adding to your collection, the color watch is a great buy once
you've covered your bases for the formal watch, casual watch and sports
watch. A color watch allows you to express some personality (even more so than your other timepieces) on your wrist.
A favorite choice of ours happens to be the Omega Seamaster Professional, especially this one with orange accents.
Featuring a bright orange bezel, orange accent markers, and orange
stitching on the strap, this Seamaster is bright, fun and cool.
We like the minimal dial's simple markers with futuristic numbers at
12, 6 and 9. Sleek arrow hands are a graphic touch, and the sporty,
bright bezel gives it that pop of color we're talking about.
The strap on this Omega is particularly great.
Take a look at that nice black leather and supple unburnished
inside.Nice, but not unlike other black leather straps you've seen
before.
This strap actually isn't leather though. it's Omega's fine rubber that looks exactly like leather, but will stand up robustly to saltwater (or pool water, or sweat).
Some Omegas with rubber straps are even texturized to look like croc,
but we like the smooth, shiny simplicity of this rubber strap with
stainless clasp. It really lets that orange stitching shine.
One of the coolest parts about this Seamaster is its co-axial movement. The co-axial movement is the next evolution of the automatic movement. As its name implies, the movement has two axials that reduce friction within the movement. Omega engineered this technology
and released the first models employing it in 2007. One of the greatest
benefits of this movement, besides the state of the art technology, is
the added longevity it gives your watch.
Whereas a typical Omega movement (pre- co-axial) would require its
regular service every 3-5 years, the co-axial movement enables your
watch services to be every 5-8 years instead.
Overall, the Seamaster is an iconic watch in general. We say take this opportunity to make a classic watch really stand out.
